Library Sound Booth

Welcome to the Sound Booth!

• Using the Sound Booth

  • To use the Sound Booth, please book by visiting one of the Library's service desks or by calling. 
  • Users of the Sound Booth are encouraged to bring their own equipment, along with their preferred software
  • If users do not have their own equipment, a laptop with some software, along with a recording microphone can be loaned for the duration of a Sound Booth booking
  • Due to the Sound Booth's size, we permit up to two individuals in the booth
  • Sound Booth reduces noise, but is not sound-cancelling 
• Guidelines

  • No food or beverages are permitted inside the Sound Booth
  • If Sound Booth is used for studying, only one individual allowed inside; if used for recording, two individuals are permitted inside 
  • All bookings must be made day-of and either via phone call or in-person
  • Bookings can be made for a maximum of two hours
  • Personal belongings cannot be left unattended 
  • Sound Booth users will be asked to leave the booth 15 minutes prior to Library closing
  • In case of alarm or evacuation: recording may be disrupted by staff to ensure safety of everyone in the Library
